Bruno Vermeeren looks back on Zolder 24 Hours

Last weekend the 24 Hours took place on the Zolder track. Bruno Vermeeren joined forces with Skylimit Yokohama team at the wheel of a Porsche 996 Cup supported by First Motorsport.

Following a good start of the race by Huart, the Porsche secured 2nd place in class and climbed up to P15 overall. “The temperature was around 26 degrees on track and 75 degrees in the car,” says Bruno. “We were constantly changing positions in a battle between our two Yokohama Porsche and the Speedlover Porsche.”

“At half race the Speedlover Porsche encountered problems, allowing us to fight for the win in our class with the number 1 Porsche,” Bruno continues.

Bruno: “Andy Jaenen and Jo Lammens asked me to drive lap times of 1’44” – 1’47”. It was not an easy task: temperature was hot at midday on Sunday and a problem with the gearbox at the end of my stint forced us to slow down to lap times of 1’55”.”

The battle was heavy within Skylimit team between both cars, finishing 7th and 8th place overall.

Bruno: “32 minutes before the end of the race Charles NG, driver of the number 1 Porsche, overtook us but we are happy with the overall standings. I’m also happy with a podium for my second place in class!”

Next event will take place in Zolder during BRCC round in October.
